Reading & Annotating Texts — Evaluating Your Effectiveness

How is it coming?

• Have I found a study space that allows me to focus on getting the most out of the material?
• Have I put in enough “quality time” that I don’t have to go back and re-read the chapter(s)?
• (If annotating before material is covered in class) Did my notes prepare me for the lecture?
• Have I managed to integrate my notes from the text with my lecture notes?
• Are the themes clear to me?
• Are the study materials from my integrated notes useful in my exam preparation?
• Is the level of detail in my notes appropriate to the professor’s expectations? (check in with the professor or TA, if you’re not sure).
