Studying Strategies — Gaining Power
- Participate in group studying, challenging yourself and your classmates to dig deeply into the material and test your understanding of it.
- Practice testing yourself in as many ways as you can, including creating test questions based on what you expect the professor to ask. One week before a test, begin to take practice exams you’ve created in the professor’s format.
- Talk with a tutor, the TA and/or the professor: “here is what I think I know—have I got this right?”
- Remember: the more interactive the studying process, the stronger the memory being created!
